Friendly and Knowledgeable Official City of London Guide
Heather is the perfect companion to take you on a guided tour of this wonderful City.
Here is why…….
My father was the typical city gent rising early in the morning, leaving for work on the train to London, immaculately dressed in a three piece suit, shiny leather shoes, raincoat, umbrella and of course the wonderful bowler hat with delicate enamelled initials neatly inserted into its silk interior.
As a child I grew to know and love London, from its iconic buildings such as the Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral to its tucked away hidden gardens like Postman’s Park, one of the 200 beautifully kept open spaces in the City of London. The winding narrow streets held intrigue, fascination and tradition, often filled with music, pomp and ceremonies.
The River Thames holds a constant reminder of centuries of trade and industry with busy quays where ships would be loaded with cargo ready to sail eastwards toward Europe and beyond.
Samuel Johnson (1709-1784) “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford”.
Dr Johnson, C17th City of London resident
